All of our members of staff are either Trainees or qualified Costs Lawyers who are regulated by The Association of Costs Lawyers (ACL).
As part of the ACL’s compliance with the requirements of the Legal Services Act, the ACL delegated its regulatory work to the Costs Lawyer Standards Board (CLSB)
All qualified and trainee Costs Lawyers must comply with the CLSB’s code of conduct.

Costs Budgeting - We are not only able to provide Cost Budgets on all manner of cases but are also SRA CPD accredited to provide training courses on the subject. We are also able to attend all CCMC hearings when the budgets are considered.
Recovery Cases - Our team of both qualified and trainee Costs Lawyers work hard to ensure that all Bills of Costs prepared demonstrate the reasonableness and proportionality of your costs in order to ensure the best possible recovery. We have a vast amount of experience in preparing Bills of Costs and we have recently prepared a Bill of Costs totalling over 3 million.
Adverse Cases - We can assist in ensuring that any legal costs for which you are liable to pay as a result of a legal action are reasonable and proportionate. We are able to accept instructions to negotiate settlement of adverse costs including preparing Points of Dispute, providing written advices or conducting Joint Meetings.
Advice - Not only can we provide you with the costs solution to secure the best settlement in matters, we can also provide you with strategic advice at every key stage of the costing process including preparation of estimates, advice on budgeting and security for costs.
Advocacy - A & M Bacon Limited have a dedicated team of skilled advocates who have experience in conducting detailed assessments in all Courts throughout England and Wales. They will ensure that all cases are carefully risk assessed so that the decision to proceed to detailed assessment is a calculated one. You will be provided with full advice as to the matters in issue and, following the hearing, a full assessment report within 48 hours.
