Councils set up £11m legal services framework for pension schemes

A group of local authorities are to put together a multi-provider framework worth between £2.55m and £11.75m in legal advice for administering authorities of Local Government Pension Schemes and their employer bodies.

The procurement is being led by Norfolk County Council. The other authorities named as part of the group are:

  • Buckinghamshire County Council;
  • The Environment Agency;
  • Dorset County Council;
  • London Borough of Hackney;
  • The City Of Edinburgh Council/Lothian Pension Fund;
  • Suffolk County Council; and
  • London Borough of Croydon.

The successful firms will advise on all aspects of the law and regulations applicable to administering authorities and employer bodies, including specialist advice on pensions and investment law.

The contract, which is divided into a number of lots, will be for a period of four years. However call offs can continue for a maximum of seven years after the framework end.
